You Can Save Up To 30% Less Energy

ENE logo Cert v copyright v2Water Coolers in your home, business, school, institution or commercial facility is a great way to begin to save on energy costs. Atlas Plumbing can help you make a decision about purchasing a water cooler for your home or business. The next best piece of information you need to know is an Energy Star water cooler which can save you up to 30% on your energy costs. Did you know that Energy Star certified water coolers are being installed in homes, business, school, and commercial facilities and institutions around our nation?

Energy Star Water Coolers can offer hot, cold and room temperature water in a variety of new ways. With massive increases in the quality and types of these products by leading manufacturers in the USA, Atlas Plumbing would like to discuss the options out there we can help make available to you for your home, business or commercial facility.

Bottom-Loading Bottled Water - The space saving units allow you to install bottled water, spout up, at the bottom of unit. This eliminates the heavy lifting and occasional spills of conventional top-loading units. Water is available at most all grocery stores now, so availability is strong in all states now.

Point of Use - These types of units avoid bottled water by using a dedicated water line and filtering systems.

On Demand - On demand units do not store conditioned water in internal tanks but provide hot and cool water upon request – saving energy.

Atlas Plumbing, your favorite Dallas Plumber, believes that having so many choices, means one thing you must do is to look for the ENERGY STAR label on your water cooler to save energy. Since typical water coolers that dispense cold water, hot water or both can be found easily for your particular location, what you need to know is a review of the types we listed above before you call our professional here at Atlas.

Bottled and Point of Use Water Coolers

Bottled water coolers are compatible with most standard 3 or 5 gallon water bottles. Easily refilled at the supermarket; or can be delivered from a water bottled water distributor. Some bottle water coolers are “bottom loading” -- the water bottle is loaded, spout up, in the bottom of the unit – avoiding the heavy lifting and occasional spills of top-loading units.

Point of use water coolers may be a little more expensive; and may need a little more no-how to operate; however, they eliminate monthly water delivery bills and lifting large bottles. Another benefit is this type is of conventional purification product is connected directly into your cold water line and refill automatically. They will most likely require a plumber for installation. Of course Atlas Plumbing can easily schedule an appointment to assist you with this installation quickly and easily.

Storage Tank and On Demand Water Coolers

Many water coolers need internal storage tanks, which could be made of stainless steel to improve taste, and be specifically sized for your use; can provide both hot and cold water. Some water coolers are now providing “on demand” hot and cold water capabilities which use less energy. Please note, there may be a wait of a few minutes for hot water with on-demand units.

Countertop Water Coolers

If space is a limitation for a full size bottled water cooler, countertop units are also available. Efficient countertop water coolers can usually accommodate 2 to 5 gallon bottles, require a small compressor and could not be as cold as a freestanding unit.

Filtered Point of Use Water Coolers

In Texas as in other states, water mineral content varies from city to city. If the taste of your tap water is unappealing, point of use water coolers are an easy option  available and they come with built-in filtration system to remove silt, odors, chlorine and  many other chemicals. The 2 main types of filtering systems: reverse osmosis and activated carbon provide different options with each having individual results. Reverse osmosis systems put water passing through a sediment filter, making them effective at desalinating water and removing minerals. This may not be as effective at removing chemicals from your tap water. Filtered water coolers with activated carbon will remove smaller substances and chemicals like chlorine, pesticides and herbicides. Remember these filters will have to be maintained and changed out occasionally.

Atlas Plumbing here in Dallas, is all about providing you safe, effective ways to provide plumbing services, and plumbing products that can save you money all year long. If all water coolers sold in the United States were ENERGY STAR certified, the energy cost savings would grow to nearly $117 million each year. This is a fantastic goal to reach for every home here in the Dallas area.

The day that my new tankless water heater was installed went just as planned. The plumbers from Atlas did an exceptional job from start to finish and the owner visited twice to assist and to ensure that all was done correctly.
